It’s National Volunteer Week! We are privileged to work with volunteers every single day at KW Habilitation as the volunteer program has become an essential part of our organization. During national volunteer week, we will be recognizing some of the volunteers who have helped us come together with our community to inspire abilities and enrich the lives of children, youth and families at KW Habilitation.
Jeff Collins has volunteered on our Board of Directors since 2014, and is currently president of the board. When we asked Jeff why he volunteers with KW Habilitation, his reply was:
‘I started volunteering with KW Habilitation after meeting Ann Bilodeau at another community event. It was Ann’s initial enthusiasm and passion for what she was creating at KW Habilitation that encouraged me to visit the organization. However, walking through the doors the first time, I knew it was an environment I wanted to be a part of. I can still remember the immediate feeling of inclusion that resonated when I first walked into the building, all the smiles and warm greetings…not to mention the butter tarts at Grant’s Café!! I knew this was a place I wanted to keep coming back to with a mission I believed in.’
Thanks Jeff!
