Rangers fans, get ready! The Kitchener Rangers are taking over Carl Zehr Square for the first ever Downtown Showdown! This action packed afternoon will have a Kitchener Rangers 3-on-3 hockey game and skills competition. Then meet the Rangers and get a free autograph. There will also be free hot chocolate and maple taffy, music from a live DJ and a chance to win prizes! Don’t worry, there will be time before and after the game for you to lace up your skates and get on the ice for a community skate. Don’t forget you can rent skates for free from Kitchener’s Central Library and Waterloo’s Eastside Library.

People connect in so many different ways. This workshop explores a connection through artistic expression. The guided art session will have a theme of disabilities. The art will be displayed at KW Art Gallery – 101 Queen St. N, Kitchener on Friday May 23, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Decorate a terracotta pot with acrylic paints and plant some seeds to start your 2025 garden! Bring along some seeds to swap. This event is run in partnership with the Waterloo Region Master Gardeners, and the Waterloo Gardeners (Waterloo Horticultural Society) who will share seeds as well as gardening tips and tricks for starting a new season! Admission to the seed exchange is free.

This workshop will guide you through the process of crafting vibrant, lifelike flowers from felt, teaching you various techniques for cutting, shaping, and assembling your blooms. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, you’ll leave with a stunning bouquet you can proudly display or gift to someone special.
