Seniors Just Wanna Have Fun – Summer Session Now Open!
Looking for a place to connect, create, and have a little fun? KW Habilitation is thrilled to invite older adults across Waterloo Region to join our vibrant and inclusive seniors program: Seniors Just Wanna Have Fun!
This welcoming space is designed for all adults aged 55+, regardless of background or ability. This program is open to everyone. If you’re looking for a friendly, supportive environment where you can explore your interests and build new friendships, we’d love to have you join us!
What Is It?
Seniors Just Wanna Have Fun is a social, recreational, and educational club. Each session offers engaging activities like:
- Arts & Crafts – from watercolour painting to pottery and even stained glass
- Trivia and Name That Tune
- Armchair travel to Italy, Hawaii, and beyond
- Music and dancing with special guests
- Gardening, bingo, diamond art, baking, and much more!
We also make time to celebrate seasonal holidays and important events together. Every visit is designed to support wellness, spark joy, and strengthen community.
Program Details
Two Options to Participate:
Wednesdays, July 2 – October 1, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 pm
Location: 99 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener
Cost: Thanks to a grant we received for this pilot year, the price to participate in this session is $90 per person
Capacity: Maximum of 10 participants per 3-month session
Mondays and Fridays, July 7 – September 30, 2025
Note: No club on August 4 and September 4
Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: 115 University Ave East, Waterloo
Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. A light afternoon snack will be provided.
Cost: $1010 per person for the three month session
Capacity: Maximum of 8 participants per 3-month session (if you miss out, we’ll have a wait list!)
Meet Laurie
Seniors Just Wanna Have Fun is led by the experienced and compassionate Laurie Jasper with support from an additional staff member at KW Habilitation. Laurie brings over 40 years of experience working with seniors, starting in long-term care and later designing creative, person-centered programming. She’s a certified Laughter Yoga instructor, trained in Palliative Care, and a member of the Mayor’s Advisory Council for Kitchener Seniors. Laurie’s compassionate spirit and fun-loving energy are at the heart of the program. She believes in making someone smile every day—and laughter is always on the agenda.
