What is Project SEARCH?
Project SEARCH is a program designed for students aged 18-21 with developmental disabilities to prepare for the workforce. It’s a business-focused transition program that’s backed by research and proven to be effective. The program follows strict standards to ensure participants receive the best training possible, setting them up for success in competitive, integrated employment.
How Does Project SEARCH Work?
The program takes place over a full academic year and offers complete immersion in a real workplace environment. At St. Mary’s General Hospital, participants gain hands-on experience and learn skills that are in demand in today’s job market. These skills are tailored to each individual’s needs, helping them grow and prepare for future employment after graduation. The program is a collaboration between KW Habilitation, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, St. Mary’s General Hospital, and Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
