This is a large graphic outlining details for the KW Career Compass LEG UP! to Material Handling Course. This 8 week, in person Job Readiness Course Includes: 24 hours in class learning during the first 6 weeks, hands on skills evaluation at 2 or 3 different material handling settings (approximately 6 hours) to occur over the 8 weeks. It also includes task and milestone reviews (approximately 4 hours), one to one resume work, practice interviews with community partners (approximately 2 hours) and a planning meeting once classes are complete to determine next steps on the path to employment. The course Outline will focus on work relationships (how to manage relationships with co-workers, managers, and customers), work-life balance (how to make and keep healthy habits from diet and exercise to rest and free time), dealing with conflict (how to handle hard problems calmly and find an answer), work place rules (learning about standards and general policies and procedures of a retail workplace), workplace math (how to grow skills in order- picking inventory and customer payments), and task management (how to create habits at work to follow and stay on task).
