Growing Leadership Through Lived Experience

The Experts in Lived Experience Council is beginning to take shape as a meaningful and empowering part of KW Habilitation’s future.

In its early stages, the Council is bringing together people who draw on their own lived experience to guide conversations, share insights, and build confidence in using their voices. It’s a space where people can grow as leaders, learn from one another, and explore how their perspectives can influence change. Through regular meetings and supportive discussions, members are developing skills in communication, advocacy, and decision-making.

As the Council continues to develop, its role will expand. There will be opportunities for members to contribute to committees, provide input on programs, and help shape the direction of services and supports at KW Habilitation. Their voices will help ensure that decisions reflect real experiences and priorities.

The long-term vision is clear: a strong, confident group of people who are actively involved, respected, and heard—helping to influence not only KW Habilitation, but the broader community as well.
