Leg Up LogoLeg Up! Holiday Session – Still Spots Left

The Leg Up! Classroom still has some spots available for some of their Holiday Session classes. In Christmas Around the World, Marc will lead the group as participants explore the different Christmas traditions celebrated in different cultures. In Present Ornament, Annita will walk participants through the steps in creating their own cute gift ornament. In Santa’s Whiskers Cookies, Michelle will guide participants in following this jolly recipe for for cherry, almond and coconut flavoured cookies. Día De Los Muertos is a vibrant celebration to honour and remember loved ones who have passed on through music, food, art, and tradition. There will be a celebration at Kitchener Market from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and at Carl Zehr Square from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM. This event will have live music, entertainment, family-friendly workshops, food vendors, retail vendors, performances, and cultural activities. Community members are encouraged to dress up, paint their faces, and show us what this colourful tradition means to them!

Enjoy the fall colours and take the opportunity to learn and observe the birds native to our area. Bring your own binoculars for an optimal experience or request a pair to borrow.
