Building Together: Update on 878 Frederick Street
We’re excited to share the latest progress on our construction project at 878 Frederick Street, a new affordable housing development that will create more inclusive and welcoming spaces for the people we support and our community. Thanks to the hard work of our builders and architects, the site is quickly turning into a building that is starting to look like a home.
What’s Happening Now
Here’s what the builders have been working on:
- Walls and Floors Going Up: The first and second floors are built, and crews are adding more walls and floors on the higher levels. The stairwells and elevator shafts are also in place
- Windows and Outside Work: New windows are being put in, with care to make sure they are sealed properly. The outside of the building is being covered to keep it safe from weather
- Plumbing and Electrical: Inside, workers are setting up pipes, wires, and lights. Temporary lights are already up in some hallways so the crews can keep moving forward
- Strong Foundations: Big steps like the foundation, floor slab, and steel frame are already done
What’s Next
In the next few weeks, builders will keep adding floors, walls, and windows. They’ll also start putting in the roof and wrapping the outside of the building to protect it from the weather
This project is about more than wood, steel, and windows. It’s about creating a place where people can feel safe, included, and part of the community. Every step forward brings us closer to welcoming people into their new home.
