JOB OPPORTUNITY:
HORTICULTURE WORKER (MAY- AUGUST 2025)
LOCATION: Waterloo, ON
KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation, and employment supports.
The Horticulture Worker will, with the coaching and mentoring of the Farm Coordinator follow an urban garden site map and complete assigned tasks of opportunity. Assisting with food security initiatives, the Horticulture Worker, as an active member of Our Farm team, will plant, weed, water, harvest, sort, and set up a grab and go market and stock.
To be eligible for the above position, youth must satisfy the following criteria:
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
• Self-identify as being part of a group who is underrepresented or have additional barriers to the labour market.
• Be legally eligible to work in Canada and have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN),
• Able to work 30 hours per week – including day, evening and weekend shifts, and
• Able to arrange own transportation to and from work.
Qualifications:
• The successful candidate will be energetic and motivated to learn new skills
• Enjoy working outdoors in different weather conditions and able to do physical labour
• Previous work experience in a garden type setting, and knowledge of plants and planting would be considered assets.

Rate of Pay: $18.00 per hour
