Students in Project SEARCH are actively participating in hands-on learning by exploring various hospital departments. Robert Woods, a student in our Project SEARCH program has been learning new skills through his internship at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Robert’s first internship was in the Human Resources department and the CEO’s office and his second internship was in the Laboratory. Through his internship one of the skills he learned was using a new design program – Canva!

“During my employment planning meeting I mentioned learning Canva in my department,” said Robert. He had not heard of this program before his internship with Project SEARCH but now he is confidently creating things like staff appreciation cards, birthday cards and slideshow presentations! “I think it’s fun and easy to use,” says Robert.

When asked if he would continue to use the program Canva in his personal life or in his career Robert replied, “Yes, I could maybe use it at my job with Langs Community Centre.”
