JOB OPPORTUNITY:
CONTRACT JOB COACH/ JOB DEVELOPER (approx. 9 months)
LOCATION: Kitchener-Waterloo, ON

KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation, and employment supports.

We are looking for experienced Direct Support Professionals to join our team. Specific duties for this role include: helping youth and adult job seekers with barriers to employment prepare for, obtain and maintain employment. You will coach people on-the-job to learn work skills, and personal management skills (team-work, work safety, proper work ethics, workplace etiquette and creating natural supports). Job development is also required (Assist and inspire employers to increase workplace diversity and inclusiveness, cold calling, networking). Requirements:

  •  Diploma or degree in related business field.
  • Minimum one year direct experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding and demonstration of Core Competencies and person directed support and relationship building and networking.
  • Ability to implement positive approaches for any demeanor, work as an integral part of the team, be comfortable working offsite alone and must be an effective interpersonal communicator.
  • You must possess a strong desire to build an inclusive community through fostering independence, advocacy and a belief in Employment First philosophy
  •  Experience in sales, relationship management and job coaching are an asset
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, resilience, collaboration, creative problem-solving and decision-making
  • A valid G driver’s license, current First Aid, NVCI, and computer skills are all essential requirements
  • The position is 40 hours per week requiring a flexible schedule to meet the needs of your caseload and employer contacts (possibility of afternoons, nights and weekends)

Schedule
:40 hours a week based on the needs of your caseload including days, evening and weekends

Start Date: August 11, 2025
End Date: May 15, 2026 with the possibility of extension
Rate of Pay: hourly rate $24.23 – $26.58
